Mechanical Decontamination:

Clay bar mechanical paint decontamination involves the use of a highly-purified, automotive grade clay material to lift embedded contaminants from your paint. Combined with a lubricating agent, the clay bar glides along the surface, picking up contaminants along the way.
This process is highly recommended prior to any paint correction services. If paint correction is not performed, a 1-step polish is recommended as mechanical decontamination can sometimes cause micro-marring.

Regular vehicle use results in chemical compounds and ferrous metals to become embedded in your paint. Though these contaminants are often most noticeable on white vehicles, metal contamination is found on most vehicles, especially on the lower half due to brake dust.
